Commercialization and Compliance Top of Mind at this Year’s Cannabis Expo

The upcoming Cannabis Expo 2026 is a chance for the public to participate in the national conversation about cannabis commercialization. Speakers booked for the Open Stage include the DTIC, which will outline its plans for adult-use regulations while other speakers will deal with the practicalities of running a cannabis business.

Thousands of people will be flocking to The Cannabis Expo which is being presented this year by private cannabis club network, Budbox, and is taking place from 29 – 31 May 2026 at the Sandton Convention Centre. Over 100 exhibitors have been signed up, with several government departments taking up space to promote aspects of the National Cannabis Master Plan which is being developed under the leadership of the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition.

Besides the cannabis consumer extravaganza the Expo is renowned for, there will be some serious talk on the Open Stage where the DTIC will engage with industry stakeholders.
