The doors for this year’s Cannabis Expo open at 10 am on Friday, 29 May 2026 and Sandton will be the cannabis capital of Africa for three days of business, culture, education and opportunity. Thousands of visitors are expected at the Sandton Convention Centre for the event which features over 100 exhibitors, major industry players, entrepreneurs and investors. There is also the cannabis food fair and the Mixology music festival providing entertainment.
Organizers say all is on track for next week’s Gauteng cannabis extravaganza, now in its sixth year and an established platform attracting a broad audience ranging from industry professionals and policymakers to curious consumers and aspiring entrepreneurs looking to better understand one of the world’s fastest evolving industries.
Media liaison spokesperson Kendel Falkson says The Cannabis Expo is not just a consumer affair but a place where business is done: “More than just an exhibition the event has become a meeting point for people exploring how cannabis is shaping sectors such as wellness, retail, agriculture, manufacturing and lifestyle”.
She says for first-timers looking to get into the cannabis business, the Expo is a gateway into the industry and the multiple parts of the cannabis value chain.
Among the areas of focus are:
• Farming and cultivation methods
• Retail and product development
• Import and export considerations
• Compliance and regulatory frameworks
• Investment and funding pathways
• Manufacturing and value added products
• Home growing and personal cultivation
“For entrepreneurs and consumers alike, the Expo offers direct access to businesses, operators and professionals actively building within the market. The 2026 edition continues to build on the Expo’s reputation as a credible platform for industry engagement, market insight and community connection”.
The following info is from The Expo’s media release earlier this week:
Convention Stage and Industry Discussions
Running throughout the weekend, the Convention Stage will host keynote talks, panel discussions and expert led sessions covering topics including regulation, investment, medical cannabis, retail growth, compliance and the future of the African cannabis market.
The programme features participation from policymakers, legal experts, industry operators and advocacy groups, providing practical insight into how the sector is evolving both locally and internationally.
For those looking for a more in depth industry experience, delegate passes provide access to dedicated networking spaces, meeting rooms and extended participation in the convention programme across all three days.
The Cheeba Cannabis and Hemp Summit
Taking place alongside the Expo on Friday, the Cheeba Cannabis and Hemp Summit returns as a dedicated forum focused on cultivation, production and the technical side of the cannabis industry.
The Summit brings together growers, operators, investors and specialists for a focused programme exploring the practical and commercial realities of cannabis and hemp across the region.
More Than Just an Expo
Alongside the industry focus, visitors will also have access to Mixology Fest presented by IGNITE Spirits, bringing music, drinks and social atmosphere to the weekend, as well as The Vape Expo presented by IGNITE.
Together, the events create a unique environment where business, lifestyle and culture intersect under one roof.
